GUEST BLOG: Part One - By Eloise Maree

Our dearest busy bee playwright, Eloise Maree, took some time out of her busy schedule to write a short story short skirts, clubs, free-flowing drinks and sticky mornings after.

My my, haven't we all been there before! Take a peak :) and wet your appetite for the next installment (coming soon!)

Part I

In a dark line of colourful clubs the youths spun and slouched on their mean heels with their painted faces, slurring expletives and grabbing at drinks. They sought a good time: to be happy and fabulous and liked: thus they wore their shiny new frocks and shoes and shirts and trousers. They dropped to their knees and spilt stomach acid on the pavement; they forgot how to walk and articulate, but they were there with their friends so they knew they were happy.

And why did they drink so that their whole demeanour changed and their walk wonked? Why, because they wanted to be grown up with proper fun and proper fun and lovers – love! – life-long love with wondrous times in bed. They did not pause to consider that what they were doing surmounted to none of these things – no, they were convinced that they were having a great time and that all they were doing would lead to what they want. And what if any encumbering thoughts crept in, saying they felt silly and lonely and unattractive? Why, they drank more and forced their limbs to shake on the dance floor and laughed! with wet lips and cat-like eyes. For they had to be having a good time, all of them looked just as what they thought a good time appeared and at times the foggy misdemeanour felt wonderful. And so they laughed away their silly fears, proudly paraded their glossy new looks and vomited out the bad.
